Sunshine

Had a couple of great reunions with a few different sets of friends today and sat in the sun. I have similar plans for tomorrow. The sun is most important for choosing activitites. I keep saying to friends, "I wasn't born a white girl." I've always been tanned. It's in my email address. The lack of sun always affects me. I was depressed in Vancouver one May with it's constant rain. The sun is so vital!

Every week I've been wanting sun and got it in spades today. The temperature was a lot cooler though. After raging thunder storns last night, we got cool temperatures today. I chose being outside over housework so will be kept busy tonight.

Doing the "me time" is taking away from organizing things and I fear getting behind. I have to pay bills tomorrow and do those ritualistic parts of life that you do on your days off. I need groceries but I can't do that in the sun.

I'm only having one song today so that if you normally listen to two will just listen carefully to this amazing song. The lyrics of Refuge of the Road by Joni Mitchell are at first much like this day and time in many ways. Some of the same images are in play. Just listen to these lyrics for those who know my time. Everything but the crying is true. I am a refuge from the road - from the wheel of fortune, as the lyrics say.

To play only one song does seem extreme. Here's a second song to remember my morning. I had strange dreams then woke up at twenty minutes to ten, the latest hour in my life so far other than when I was a growing teen. Serena Ryder has Last Night I had the Strangest Dream. Will all my meetings with friend I hadn't talked to anyone about those.

Rain Repeat

Cloudy and rainy all week. How is that for a forecast after the past month being filled with mostly cloud and rain? Depressing is the answer. My boss asked me what days off I would like this week. I told her I'd like the sunny days off. I got Tuesday and Wednesday instead. It is great weather for ducks.

I met a cyclist from Maine yesterday. He'd cycled here and was tenting each night. He left the same weather in Maine but hoped it would improve as time went on. It hasn't and the poor man has been freezing. It's quite ok when you're actually cycling but not when you're sleeping in a tent.

I met another cyclist who is cycling across Canada for charity, He is raising money for local food banks. Here is his website. In the latest post, the American cyclist he mentions is the one from Maine who I introduced him to.

Today feels like Sunday so my body time/ brain time is back on schedule. It's amazing how the days of the week have distinct feelings. The ones most distinct for me are Friday and Sunday. I like both days and the feelings they bring.

A couple of songs for the cyclists today - not that they will hear them or know I've dedicated songs to them. Here is Weak in the Knees and This Wheel's on Fire by Serena Ryder. It could only be more perfect if her name was Serena Cycler. I find her voice quite similar to Brandi Carlile's.

What's Your Favorite Day?

Friday! My favorite day of the week. It always has been since school days when we went out on Friday nights and our parents went out on Saturday nights, while we babysat. I'm not going out tonight though other, than a couple of little neighbourhood visits after dinner.

Each day of the week seems to have it's own feel to it. Just yesterday a friend said that she could never work on Sundays as it just wouldn't feel right. It doesn't bother me at all. If I had family around Sunday dinners would be nice but since I don't. I have one son here but he's as happy to come on Saturdays.

I feel lighter. I got my hair cut today and it actually does make your head feel lighter. It's a great feeling, eh? I bought some gel soles for my new running shoes too so I've taken care of myself from head to toe.

Just writing of the days of the week reminded me of a couple of songs from Serena Ryder. Just Another Day and Some of These Days are a couple of her songs from her album, If Your Memory Serves You Well. Very appropriate for today. I also have a song for my daughter. This one's for you. Many Kisses. Choosing that song has just given me the best news. All of my songs on Page One are back. I stupidly some so there are a few missing but it is 498 more that I can choose from for my Shutterchance Blog. Out of almost 400 it's hard to find the right one some times. Thank you Putfile!!!
