What a Day

Goodness! Almost four hours late. My plans changed directions so many times today that it's a wonder my chair was still waiting for me when I turned the corner. Everything, even though plans kept changing, went smoothly enough though, so it was an ok day in Charlottetown.

The dental appointment I rescheduled after the dentist canceled the previous one, was canceled first thing this morning. The dentist sustained a golf injury and may be out of commission for a while. He thinks he sustained a rotator cuff injury. Not good for a dentist......or an artist, don't I know. I may have to see another dentist as a new patient. I'm not aware if there are shortages in the dental field like there are in the medical field.

I had to have unexpected car work done to pass my annual vehicle inspection. Brake pads and rotors, headlight bulb, etc. I had car repairs not too long ago as well. I'm not expecting any miracles. A vehicle costs a lot of money to run and maintain and is an absolute necessity living in the country. And, it's where I choose to be.

By the time I got home I had to prepare supper and was just starting the stirfry as my son was walking in the door, so it's now late. What A Day is the song of the day. It's by Greg Laswell and was featured on Grey's Anatomy. Joe Cocker is bringing us the second selection today, the classic summer song. I wish I could get the songs from my vinyl into mp3's. I would play my favorite, and very different, version of the Summer In the City - by BB King. Maybe you have it, Ralph? You had the Aretha song I wanted for so long.

Turns out I already have that one up on Page Two so here's another second song of the day - Home Again by Haale.

Hot Stuff

It's been a busy, busy day and I'm just finding time to get a post in now. It's not going to get any better as the whole week promises to be non-stop. I have good things happening though. My day off on Thursday will be partly spent at the beach with a friend from away who will be visiting. We have lots to catch up on.

We're having scorching weather but the only ones complaining seem to be the fellows working outdoors with me. I just tell them that it could be rain falling instead of sunshine like it has been for most of the summer. How soon they forget. I'm lovin' it! I'm spending a great deal of my workday outside but going in for half hour breaks every so often to cool down and having the others do the same. It's the only way to handle it.

Here's some music a little unusual for me to have up but I'm a woman of wide tastes. I just don't have a lot of disco or dance as it's called now. Here are The Pussycat Dolls with a remake of an old disco song, Hot Stuff. I actually like their version as it's much sexier. The other song is more my style. It's a version of Summer In the City, from Joe Cocker. I had a song of the same name by Regina Spector a while back but hers is not the one we're mostly familiar with. I like it a lot too.
