Short but Some Sunsets are Like That

The big storm that was predicted did not materialize. We were on the warm side of the front and had only rain. Thank goodness! I had the dreaded mammogram rescheduled for today and did not want to have to get worked in again. Best to get it over with and stop the daily dreading one goes through for this procedure. There was no problem at all to get into town so the dreaded procedure is over and done with. We are now expecting bitterly cold temps for a few days.

My son and his friend are building an ice fishing shack. Sonny went to town for the load of plywood last night but has business dinners three nights in a row so may not get back to the construction for a few days. He's going to take me fishing some day this winter. He owes me as I supplied a propane cookstove for heat last winter and they probably want it again this year. Ice fishing is quite fun. I'll take some photos of my time and hope to get some fish to boot.

I bought dog food for the crows today. I hope this is helpful to them, not harmful in any way. I will get some mixed bird seed for them too. I feed only black oil sunflower seeds to the other birds and the crow's beaks are too big to have to crack those for the small meats. I think they swallow them whole, actually.

Here are a couple of songs in honour of the mammogram that every woman must have to ensure a healthy body. Mash it Funky is from DJ BC and Every Little Bit Hurts from Alicia Keys.

Wood is a bit of a theme today as well so here's a couple of songs to fit. Here's Friday Morning's Regret with The Wooden Sky and Wood River by Canadian, Connie Kaldor will fit quite nicely. I've always loved this song, Wood River.

A Bump in a Perfect Day

I've had a busy day but enjoyed it so very much! I loved every chore from laundry and defrosting a fridge to cooking. I love being home. I love taking the time to stroll through gardens cutting flowers, smelling the roses and making beautiful bouquets. I love my sheets on the line. I love just not having to go to work.

Remember last week, I asked my son what he'd like for dinner and he requested French onion soup and tacos. I gave him a choice of lasagna or cannelloni today. He chose lasagna. I have the sauce done and the rest to do.

My sheets didn't go out till afternoon as we had rain this morning. We had half a day of rain yesterday too and it was great. With heavy showers for two half-days we got a perfect amount of moisture I'd say. I have friends and neighbours in the farm community and their livings depend on a supply of rain.

My arthritis has been acting up and that's what the music is about today. I should try to slow down but it's just not in me. Alicia Keys has the perfect musical choices with Every Little Bit Hurts and Slow Down. You can't keep a good woman down. Here's the very different and mellower Every Little Bit Hurts by Ellis Hall that was recently requested for a repost.

Something serious has happened with my Putfile and I am not recognized as a user. Please see if you can play a song from yesterday. I can't even do that. I will check again later.

I have a friend who'll be here soon. We plan to solve all the problems of the world. I hope Putfile solves itself.

Update: Everything seems to be working again.

Hello There

I'm getting back into shape after 'the long, weird winter'. My daily shift at work averages walking sixteen kilometers. I've dropped a pant size in just a few weeks. Today is my first day off in eight days. I worked seven straight - nine and a half hours, sixteen kilometers a day. This is also my excuse for the lack of posts. I'm too tired when I get home and I'm just not into posting in the morning. Morning posting doesn't fit in well with my day. What I may do is to have some strictly musical posts on days that I'm tired.

My son will be happy tonight. I'm cooking chicken and ribs, made potato salad, Monday salad (a weird name for a salad I make, I know), asparagus for me, and have cleaned all day. All taken care of for him. His co-workers tell me they're thinking he will be in a great mood tomorrow.

I had a request for a song that has disappeared. I'm happy to bring back any song that has been removed. There were a couple of hundred removed and I posted every one of them because I liked them and wanted to share what I have. If I could only get my vinyl and cassettes into mp3's - then we'd be talkin'. I have some great old stuff.

What goes with the request, Every Little Bit Hurts by Ellis Hall? That's too funny to think about because did I mention I've walked about sixteen kilometers a day for the last seven? I could include today as well with the zooming I've been doing around here. This is my first glance at the computer since 8:30 or so this morning. Every Little Bit Hurts is an understatement. Here's a couple: When The Pain Dies Down, 500 Miles, My Hips Don't Lie, and I'll Run Your Hurt Away.

One More Day by The Wood Brothers is the new song for today. Listen to this song and hear what's been happening. One More Day is how much more off time I have. Worked here today and tomorrow is for me......the beach.

Hey Blogger, Where Is The Photo Going?

New changes to Blogger again. The photo keeps disappearing so the changes may not be improvements.

I've had a twingey ear for the last couple of weeks. On Monday night, it developed into a full blown ear infection. I'm on antibiotics for ten days. Bummer. Only a few more weeks of regular work schedule but I still have to work getting cleaned up from this season and preparing for Christmas, believe it or not.

Where the heck are the photos going?

Music today: I Feel A Little Spaced Out by Os Mutants and Every Little Bit Hurts by Ellis Hall.
