I'm taking a few minutes for a quick post after a bit of an absence. I must eat food with my medication so am killing two birds with one stone. Three more sleeps till the kids are here and one day off so I'm very busy. I slept late as I didn't sleep well during the night so got a late start to the day.
Some great news - my music files are accessible again. I have no idea what the problems were but am very, very happy they've been solved. Speaking of music, here are today's songs. My daughter recieved the name Angel as a middle name nickname the day she was born. This song is for her. She's not a country fan but the words 'destination home' are in the lyrics and the lyrics in general are perfect for her. The title is Infamous Angel and the song is by Iris Dement. For my son I have Waitin' For You by his favorite musician, Bob Dylan.

Rest of the Day Off
I wish you all could experience this awesome PEI day. We had heavy showers before dawn and some light showers this morning and just before noon I trusted the day enough to start hanging clothes on the line. I've always said perfect summer weather is when it rains at night and the sun shines during the day. This is proof. The temperature is 26 degrees centigrade or 79 degrees American. Is that not perfect?
I forgot my camera at work yesterday and ever since have felt naked. I went to town as a passenger last night and wanted the camera so badly. I picked it up this afternoon but missed many photo ops in between. The photo above is of the bloom of a horse chestnut taken a week ago. I saw the same tree today and already tiny chestnuts are developing; but I didn't have my camera. Aren't they a beautiful bloom?
A friend brought me a huge bouquet of iris's at work yesterday for me to take home. They are absolutely gorgeous and smell wonderful too. There are purple, lavendery white , bright yellow and maroon ones and they're stunning. My daughter-in-law sent a photo of my grandson last week. He is smelling an iris that is almost as big as his head. Awesome!
You have to know what song I'll be playing don't you? The Goo Goo Dolls' big hit Iris comes to mind first for me. Did it for you? I've worked so, so hard on this day off as I have appointments in town tomorrow, so for the Rest of The Day Off (by Neil Finn), I'm awaiting company and am going to cook an awesome meal on a perfect PEI summer day.

Warm Again
No HorizonThe endorphins were out in full force today. I'd love to know if speed of walking increases the number of endorphins or not. The beach was so nice. The sea smell hit me at least five minutes before I could see water and stays in my memory now. I wish I could photograph smells.
I had company today for lunch and after Oprah, both unexpected but welcome. Isolation is so easy and something to guard against but.....it's so easy.
Got invitations to two different art show openings from two friends about to show. One is on Tuesday so I will attend for sure. It's hard to have shows this time of year in this province with such a small population. I'll be sure to buy something from them both.
Music today: Here's another Iris Dement. You've heard me wax poetic about her song, Our Town, though I like someone elses version better than hers. This one, a slow ballad, is Easy's Gettin' Harder Every Day. I saw The Duhks (pronounced Ducks) in 03, the first year they were together, I think, and loved their energy. Here's a cut from this Winnipeg band, Down to the River, and in my case today, Down to the Beach.
