Luckiest Woman

I have run out of daytime. I still have tons of stuff to do so haven't a lot of time. Dinner is in the oven. Three sister-in-laws who are friends and one a work colleague dropped off a whole bunch of food today while I was in town. There is a scallop casserole in the oven, my sister and sister-in-law and I just munched on a fruit tray, they sent a cherry cheesecake for dessert and a fruit cake for later. Yesterday a neighbour brought carrot muffins. It feels so wonderful to know that people care. I receive cards and phone calls every day and appreciate them all.

It is official. My pathology report is back and I do not have cancer. The relief is immense. With all I've been through the underlying fear was what comes after. I'm happy to report that nothing is required for me to live a normal (who, me) life. Yeah!!!!!! I feel a real weight lifted.

The first song today is something I wouldn't play before but I feel ok about it now. Cancer by Dave Van Ronk tells it all. I smoked for forty years. For the second song, if we could change the word Man to Woman, this is my pick for song of the week.. It's David Olney with Luckiest Man. Another essential song to be brought back in is Endangered Species by Diane Reeves. It's an anthem.

WONDERFUL NEWS!!!! I only recently discovered your two blogs, and have been keeping you in my thoughts that you would get a good pathology report on your recent surgery. Whew. I am sure that the process and contemplations you have recently been through will enhance your life for a long time to come. Blessings - Nan

Yippee!
I cannot imagine the stress of wait for the results.

Welcome, Nan. I have four other blogs. They're all photo blogs and are the first four listed under the links to the right. You are so right in these experiences changing ones life. I will drink more water for a start and I will stay away from pepper for quite a while yet. And yes, there's more than that.

Thanks, Ralph. I feel better already. I had two big pieces of that cherry cheesecake. I felt like the cherries.

It has been the hardest part, Michael. I've hardly been sleeping. I took my first ever sleeping pill last night and feel like a new woman.

Cuidado,

Whoopee!!!Now that all that weight is off your shoulders you can dig right into all those sweets.

You have amazed me with your strength during the waiting.

I couldn't be happier!

My sister has been baking and she ears between meals and in the evening. I've been joining her but after she leaves on Sunday, it's back to the disciplined life for me. I'm going to miss her and her fun eating ways.

I;m so relieved, Kat!

I'm just now getting time to catch up on your recent posts, and I am so relieved to hear your good news! Congratulations! By the way, I love the picture of the kidney, of course. Before I became a medical transcriptionist, I used to be a secretary in a pathology lab. All those kinds of things fascinate me.
Here's to your quick recovery, and to a much-deserved wonderful spring for both of us - one of these days!
